Architectural Joinery for Framlingham properties
Half the Architectural Joinery problems we fix in Framlingham started as a sizing assumption. You will find mostly colour-washed timber-framed cottages, wool-town merchant houses and coastal stock in this area, and it moves as it ages. dry easterly climate with strong coastal salt exposure is the local complication, and lime-render and timber junction failure where movement opens the seal is what it eventually causes. What we concentrate on is one-off items worked from a drawing set rather than a catalogue.
The site visit comes first, because assumptions made in an office get paid for on site. Rough dimensions and a couple of photographs are enough for us to price it properly.
One local point to factor in: Lavenham-style timber framing needs specialist scribed repair, not replacement.
