Contract joinery in Penrith

Wall Panelling Systems across Penrith tends to be driven by the condition of what is already there. Property here runs to Lakeland slate cottages, Georgian Carlisle stock and coastal industrial terraces, and each of those brings its own set of dimensions. Locally you are contending with the highest rainfall in England with severe upland exposure, so sustained saturation decay and finish failure within short recoating cycles is the fault we are called out to. The part that matters is panelling set out so joint lines land where the eye expects them.

Every job is measured on site first, because drawn sizes and built sizes are seldom the same. Tell us what you are working with and we will put a fixed figure in writing.

One thing that catches people out here: Lake District National Park controls window style closely across the central valleys.

Penrith questions

Can you price from drawings?

Yes. Send a drawing set or a schedule and we will price against it. If anything is ambiguous we will query it before quoting rather than assume and reprice later.

Do you take a deposit?

Not before the measured survey. A deposit is only requested once the survey is complete and you have approved the final schedule and price.

Do you work in hardwood or softwood?

Both. Engineered hardwood is the default where movement or exposure is a concern, and slow-grown softwood is often the better value choice for painted work in sheltered positions. We will tell you which we would specify and why.

Will the finish need maintaining?

A factory-applied microporous finish typically needs inspection every three to five years, sooner on exposed coastal elevations. Maintaining it is far cheaper than letting a coating fail and the timber take up water.

Do you fit, or supply only?

Both. Supply-only is common for trade and contractor clients. For private clients we usually recommend supply and fit, because responsibility for the fit and the finish then sits in one place.
