Contract joinery in Lincoln
Most Architectural Joinery enquiries we take in Lincoln start with an opening that is not a standard size. Around here it is Georgian Stamford limestone, fenland farmhouses and coastal resort bungalows, and that alone rules out anything bought by the pallet. low rainfall with severe exposed easterly wind off the North Sea is the local complication, and wind-driven rain ingress and sand abrasion on coastal finishes is what it eventually causes. In practice that means one-off items worked from a drawing set rather than a catalogue.
We would rather spend an hour surveying than a week correcting. Photographs and approximate sizes are all we need to start.
Bear in mind for this area: Stamford is one of England's most tightly controlled conservation towns.

Can you match an existing profile?
Yes. If you can supply a section, a photograph with a rule in shot, or an old unit, we can replicate the profile. For conservation work this is usually the condition the planning officer will apply.
Do you work in hardwood or softwood?
Both. Engineered hardwood is the default where movement or exposure is a concern, and slow-grown softwood is often the better value choice for painted work in sheltered positions. We will tell you which we would specify and why.
How long does a typical order take?
Most made-to-size orders run six to ten weeks from survey to delivery. Conservation and heavily detailed work can take longer, and we confirm the lead time in writing at quotation rather than leaving it open.
What if the opening is out of square?
Most older openings are. The survey records the actual dimensions at several points and the unit is manufactured to suit, which is the main reason we survey rather than work from the sizes given over the phone.
Can you price from drawings?
Yes. Send a drawing set or a schedule and we will price against it. If anything is ambiguous we will query it before quoting rather than assume and reprice later.
